What the tournament is about

This event was designed to emulate, at home, the experience that NBF players had enjoyed when traveling abroad to play in tournaments.  It is therefore an intensive, competitive and enjoyable weekend of badminton which should stretch, develop and most likely hurt.  The format is teams of four (2 men and 2 women) playing level and mixed doubles.  Players may also enter individually and teams can be made up.  The 2006 results section on the page includes a photo of the venue.

The next event will be over the weekend of xxth and xxth February 2010.  Entries must be returned to xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx (previously Sandra Ashcroft)  by Monday xxth January 2010, with cheques made payable to "Newmarket Badminton Federation".

Click on Entry Forms (Last Year's for illustration) for full tournament and xxxxxx (previously Sandra's) contact details.   Playing categories will be B and C.  The venue will be Littleport Sports Centre (to be confirmed).

Note:  Sandra Ascroft is standing down from the committee after this year so heartfelt thanks go to her for all her hard work in making this event successful over the years.  Trish Thorpe (Chairman) and Dawn Butterfield (Treasurer) are also standing down, so appreciation similarly goes to them for all their support over the years.

Soon to be pictured her will be some players from the twelve teams who came from as far afield as Belgium, the Wirral and Birmingham to compete over the weekend of 14th & 15th February 2009, at  Littleport Sports Centre.  The results are shown below.
